OSU Summer Art Teacher Residency

The OSU Department of Art, Graphic Design and Art History is pleased to announce that applications are open for the 2026 OSU Summer Art Teacher Residency! The 2026 Summer Art Teacher Residency will be held from June 7-13Applications are due April 12th. Click the application link to apply. 

The residency brings together a wide range of K-12 art teachers and provides time away from everyday responsibilities and distractions that inhibit you from making artwork during the busy school year. Participants will live on the OSU Stillwater campus and engage in stimulating dialogue with colleagues in the field of education as they work in art studios creating new artwork. Working alongside fellow art educators and Full-time Art Professors you will be encouraged through critiques, presentations, and workshops, while developing friendships and significant professional relationships. The week of intense art-making will culminate in a group exhibition at Modella Gallery. 

Program Provides: 

  • Bartlett Center for the Arts dedicated individual studio workspace, with secure 24/7 access
  • Faculty mentorship, presentations & workshops
  • Exclusive artist-led tour of Ingrid Magidson exhibition at OSU Museum of Art
  • Access to printmaking studio at the Visual Arts Annex for silkscreen, relief, intaglio and lithography processes 
  • Access to Mac Computer Labs and Adobe software
  • Access to Visual Resource Center (VRC), with camera checkout available, large format printing and laser cutting available at an affordable rate
  • OSU Parking Pass
  • Dormitory lodging on the campus of Oklahoma State University for 6 nights, 5 days (private room, shared bathroom, communal kitchen) 
  • Culminating group exhibition at Modella Art Gallery on Friday, June 12th 
  • Professional Development Certificate

Fees:

  • While this residency is heavily subsidized, we still need your help to make it possible. 
  • We ask for a $50 deposit, due by May 15th, 2026.
  • The residency fee is $350, with the remaining $300 due before June 1st, 2026.
