Do you know an OAEA art educator who is doing an outstanding job?
Have you been inspired by the efforts of an OAEA art educator you know?
If you can say “yes” to either of these questions, please nominate them for an award. Awards in Oklahoma are presented at the Fall Conference. Nominations are welcome July through the deadline.
The annual deadline for nominations is October 1st.

The objectives of the OAEA Awards Program are:
- To recognize excellence in the many outstanding individuals in our state;
- To focus professional attention on quality art education and exemplary art educators;
- To increase public awareness of the importance of quality art education;
- To set standards for quality art education and how they can be achieved; and
- To provide tangible recognition of achievement, earn respect of colleagues, and enhance professional opportunities for OAEA members.
Art educators can be nominated for the following categories:
Oklahoma Art Educator of the Year
Oklahoma Secondary Art Educator of the Year
Oklahoma Middle Level Art Educator of the Year
Oklahoma Elementary Art Educator of the Year
Oklahoma Supervision Art Educator of the Year
Oklahoma Higher Education Art Educator of the Year
Oklahoma Museum Art Educator of the Year
Oklahoma Retired Art Educator of the Year
New! Agent of Change in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Award
An OAEA Awards Packet consists of the following:
- NAEA Nomination Form (one page)
- Nomination Letter (about one page written by person nominating)
- NAEA Vita Form (about four pages, written by nominee)
- Two letters of recommendation from others who know the nominee (must be only one page each)
- Photo of the nominee
Please remember, the OAEA Nomination Form is to be completed by the nominator. The VITA is to be submitted by the nominee.
