Emerging Talent 2026
Catoosa Historical Society, Catoosa, OK March 21st – April 25th
It is time for our mid-level juried art show, Emerging Talent formerly known as JYTIO. Emerging Talent is for OAEA members, and grades from 6-8. We will be having Emerging Talent at the Catoosa Historical Society in Catoosa from March 21st to April 26, 2026.

- Open to students in grades 5-8 across the state.
- Each participating school may submit up to 12 pieces of artwork.
- All artwork must be original-no AI or copyright images.
- Artwork must be created within the last 12 months.
Categories
- Drawing (pencil, charcoal, ink, pastels)
- Painting (watercolor, acrylic, oil)
- Mixed Media (collage, printmaking, digital)
- Sculpture/3D Art (ceramic, wood, metal, found objects)
Submission Guidelines
- Entries are $1 per entry
- All artwork must be ready for display and mounted on a 2 inch black matte board or tag board.
- Maximum size: 36 inches in any direction.
- Artwork must be clearly labeled on the front bottom right hand corner.
- Registration must be submitted by [March 19, 2026].
Judging & Awards
- A panel of qualified judges will evaluate artwork based on originality, technique, creativity, and presentation.
- All judging decisions are final.
- Awards will be given in each category, including Best in Show.
- This year only, there will be a special prize for Route 66 themed artwork
Liability & Disclaimer
- Catoosa Historical Society Museum and the Emerging Talent Committee are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged artwork.
- By submitting artwork, participants agree to allow The Catoosa Historical Society Museum and OAEA to use images of their work for promotional purposes.
Artwork Pick-Up Policy
- Artwork must be picked up on April 25, 2026 by 3:00 PM].
- Any artwork not picked up within 90 days after the exhibition’s end will be discarded or become property of the Emerging Talent Committee.
- It is the responsibility of the participant or their school to arrange for artwork retrieval

In an attempt to make the process easier for teachers who enter several pieces, I have made
the form so that you can enter multiple works at once. If you need to enter more, you can either
sent me a list or fill out an additional form
