Young Talent in Oklahoma Mission: To discover, encourage and enable young artists to continue their art education at the post secondary level by providing scholarships and awards, as well as a juried exhibition for high school art students.
To promote every Oklahoma secondary art program through gallery style exhibition honoring with celebration of our diverse and talented young artists.
Entries may be submitted by current OAEA members teaching in Oklahoma public or private high schools. Teachers currently instructing art classes are invited to submit student work from their classes according to the guidelines. Work from private instruction may be submitted with a teacher’s school entries. Members may renew OAEA memberships or join OAEA with submission of entries. Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided a opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. Each year, increasing numbers of teens participate in the program, and become a part of our community–-young artists and writers, filmmakers and photographers, poets, and sculptors, along with countless educators who support and encourage the creative process. Scholastic Art and Writing Award Ceremony and Reception is Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 909 South Boston, at Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
