The Oklahoma Art Education Association annually recognizes educators for the following achievements:
- Art Educator of the Year
- Secondary Educator of the Year
- Middle School Art Educator of the Year
- Elementary Educator of the Year
- Retired Educator of the Year
- Supervision/Administration Educator of the Year
Award winners are recognized during the OAEA Conference in the fall then advance to the national level where they compete against other state winners for a variety of NAEA awards, which are presented each year during the NAEA Convention in March.
