The fall OAEA Board meeting will be November 4th in Stillwater at the OSU Museum of Art. The museum is graciously providing OAEA with an afternoon workshop at the newly renovated Stillwater Center of the Arts.
Many of you may want to know more about OAEA and the programs that are available to you. You may also be interested in helping with different art programs and exhibits available to you and your students. The best way is to come and find out and hang out with your art peers for the day! The Saturday schedule will include:
9:00 – 9:15am: Meet and Greet
9:15 – 10:00: Tour Kiki Smith Exhibit
10:00 – 12:00: Meeting
12:00 – 1:00: Lunch on your own
1:00: Fiber as Medium Workshop
The OSU Museum of Art is located at 720 S. Husband Street, Stillwater, 74074. There is free 90 minute parking in front of the museum and free all-day parking is just around the corner on 8th.
The Stillwater Center for the Arts is located at 1000 S. Duck, Stillwater, 74074. There is free parking in front of the building in the lot.
Fused, Layered and Embellished: Fiber as Medium
Participants will enjoy creating fabric collage by fusing and stitching fabric, paper, and other materials to a recycled felt base. The collaged surface will be manipulated with stencils, paint, metal leaf and other materials. All supplies will be provided by the OSU Museum of Art and hosted in the newly renovated Stillwater Center for the Arts.
Vicky Berry has an MFA in studio art with an emphasis in painting and printmaking. Berry serves as the Director and Chief Curator of the OSU Museum of Art. In her spare time, she experiments with unique dye techniques and mixed media textile forms. Museum Educators and Teaching Artists: Carrie Kim and Casey Pankey will add their talents to the mix ensuring all will have the opportunity to sample the techniques and processes demonstrated.
